Cat Heavens

The Cat Heavens are celestial group-minds of those Cats who are deemed worthy, that reside beyond the mortal plane. The Cat Heavens accept believing cats into their ranks, and those within them are forever half-individual and half-hive-mind as they lounge in an eternal starlit heaven.
Cat Heaven was once one place and one thing. In those early days, only cats who followed their codes and gave their prayers were accepted- but the codes diverged as cats scattered, and the enforcement slackened. As more and more versions of what 'tradition' was entered Heaven, the more difficulty it had agreeing- and sub-heavens began to form, to judge each region by that region's standards.
But some versions of Cat life are so divorced from others that they could never share a mind. The first splinter Heaven was created by The Hidden One early on: The Heavenside Layer, a place for Jellicle Cats that complete their ritual of ascension.
The cats of the Dream Clans were the first to be accepted but not integrated, as their exposure to the otherworldly could not co-exist with the mundane minds of a billion dead cats. This group slowly formed their own Heaven- the Twisted Spire, visible within that plane as a strange corkscrewing mass. The arrival of Cosmic Lord Brambleshanks- a Warlock of immense power- and their warlock-cats only increased the estrangement of the Twisted Spire.
The three heavens- The Multi-faced Heaven of the Stars, the Heavenside Layer, and the Twisted Spire- all have the ability to grant visions to those who believe in them, sometimes even powers. They also have authority over the creation of Ghosts.
