Captain Jyen

Jyen Nosalik

Captain Jyen Nosalik is owner and captain of The Firebloom, a merchant vessel that operates along the Northern coast of Garadel and Larazel. 
Jyen has had a long military career on the sea, working as a privateer and naval auxiliary for the Temple of Saraka, the Sacred State of Nalastra, and others. Jyen also seems to have spent time in the interior fighting, as he has contacts among the Riders of the Free Flame and even the Blood of Karn. While Jyen has respect for these groups and often works with their members, he isn't a full member of either and is decidedly on the outside of both. He is just an open-minded merchant who is sympathetic to underdogs and odd fellows.
Jyen's long and violent life has left him struggling with disability - he uses a wheelchair to move around most of the time, though he can walk for short distances. He also suffers from chronic pain, bone ailments, and other physical ailments from a life spent relying over-much on his natural armor. Many of these ailments are developed enough to defy basic healing magic, and Jyen works to manage them while living and working as normal. This merchant business is his retirement; he has worked hard to designate himself as a nuetral party.
Jyen met Potha Sarana and became one of her contacts through his own friend and mercenary guard Losaro Firebringer.
