Zeonic Heavy Industries

A major producer of spacecraft, industrial equipment and both military and civilian Mobile Suits, Zeonic has been in production since before the Calamity War and is credited with the launch of the first mass-produced mobile suit; the Zaku.
Their largest rival and bitter enemy Anaheim Electronics has long since surpassed them in both fame and revenue, but this does not make Zeonic Heavy Industries a small company. They are the largest producer of steel, titanium and ceramic in the solar system, 78% of factories in the colonies use machinery manufactured by Zeonic and a massive 14 million cargo and passenger ships have been produced by their shipyards in the last 90 years. But Zeonics origins lie in military machinery and while it is still something they do well Anaheim Electronics close ties with the Federation government mean that military contracts for Zeonic are few and far between.
Zeonic had a military market in the growing Alliance of Zeon Militia but this was quickly cut of when the militia was declared an illegal terrorist group after Char´s Rebellion. Rumour has it that Zeonic still has close ties to Zeon (nowadays better known as Neo-Zeon), but as this would be highly illegal there´s no official records of any such deals.
Zeonic, like many other corporations, has an interest in education and as such Zeonic Heavy Industries invests heavily into Nadeshiko Technical Academy, even if it´s a Anaheim Electronics owned and operated school. This investment secures a place for Zeonic on the school board, from where they make sure that the school curriculum includes education on how to use Zeonic products, including mobile suits.
