Mie Om
An experienced politician and respected ex-president now senator of the Earth-Mars Federation.
She was instrumental in passing the 0078 change to the Federation constitution that extends the maximum numbers of terms a president can serve from 2 to 8, a law which she proposed and drove through 7 years after she stepped down from office and 3 years before the now longest serving President Rex Blanc was due to leave the office at the end of his two terms. The passing of the bill sparked protests in the outer colonies, but was mostly unnoticed by the larger population. Blanc was later re-elected and is now serving his 4th term in office.
Mie herself has had a very successful career and has, despite some her share of political scandals, retained a image of the wise and patient leader. Her leadership style is defined by a careful and kind way of diplomacy, were all opponents are respected and all opinions are considered. She has no shortage of allies in the Senate and beyond in the ministries of the Federation, but has recently lost some traction in many of the corporations that used to support her.
