Eliassith

LIzardfolk tales tell of a time when there was a great lizardfolk society. There were kings and queens whole ruled the land with wisdom and benevolence. But your people were captured and put into large ships that sailed into a star. They were brought to this land and made slaves. They started calling themselves the "Assarai," or the Taken Ones. Many of your people still live in bondage in Ptolus; some have freed themselves and survive in hidden warrens in the city; others escaped the city altogether to dwell in the swamps of the land. You come from those who escaped.

Gods of the Lizardfolk

Semuanya, the Survivor: neutral deity of survival. The current mainstream god of the lizardfolk.   Essylliss, the Light: original god of the lizardfolk   Sess'innek, the Conqueror: demon god of the lizardfolk that wants to use the people to conquer the world

History

Eliassith's parents were Vozk and Qaeh. Both died when he was very young, protecting the folk from a giant swamp mawg called Razorback. Eliassith was taken in by Chikkotu the Venerable, the spiritual leader of the clan.   "Kotu" saw the potential in Eliassith and trained him in the ways of Semuanya the Survivor. Eliassith became best friends with Kotu's offspring Brajashk. However, when they were teenagers, Kotu gave the title of Vinguari to Eliassith instead of his own son, making Eliassith Koku's successor to rule the people. Brajashk was disappointed but he accepted this because it was obvious to him too that Eliassith was blessed by Semuanya.   When Eliassith started telling people about the old god Essyliss, this was too much for Brajashk to bear. He attacked Eliassith and demanded that he release the Vinguari title and give it to him. He said, "Essyliss is merely a fable. The folk need Semuanya. Without the Survivor watching over us, we will all die." Kotu stopped the attack, and Brajashk took this as a rebuke. Embarrased, he left the tribe. Eliassith felt called to seek more answers about Essyliss and left to learn more.
