Von Gruseldorf
The von Gruseldorf family is one of high respect and honor within the Kingdom of Rewen. They are relatives of the royal family, have been Stewards of the King & Queens, generals, scholars, philosophers, artists, and just all around Renaissance men & women. They're wealth and affluence has earned them a comfortable living, and they have been handsomely rewarded for their services to the crown with an estate in the north eastern part of the kingdom. This would not last forever however. Pride always precipitates a dizzying fall.
The most recent head of the family --Lord Hildemar Berthold von Gruseldorf IV -- has been quick to squalor the family's vast fortune through lavish parties, decadent spending, and other debaucheries only known to him. He soon became a recluse, delving and dabbling in what was rumored to be all sorts of black magic. No one was sure on whether they believed these said rumors or not, but as time has passed these rumors seem to have become a reality.
The lord of the manor has since disappeared, leaving his estate to the family's one and only heir --Ruprecht. Whether or not Lord Hildemar is still alive isn't known, but the king has issued a decree for the von Gruseldorf family estate to be returned to its former glory and standing.
Public Agenda
The current heir to the von Gruseldorf family--Ruprecht Jorg von Gruseldorf--hopes to restore his family's honor and name. Ever since his uncle, Hildemar Berthold von Gruseldorf IV, disappeared amidst the rumors of debauchery, and forbidden magic, the family has been a taboo topic of discussion within Rewen. King Siegfried Gotthard Leopold III shares Ruprecht Jorg's agenda for the family. Ruprecht Jorg has sent word out far and wide for any able bodied person who wishes to seek fame and fortune, help in his endeavor to restore his family's honor.
Assets
Being a noble family within the Kingdom of Rewen, the von Gruseldorf's boasted an immense amount of wealth, and soldiers to support the kingdom in times of need. They were able to trade in produce, minerals, timber, furs, and fish, but that all changed when Lord Hildemar Berthold von Gruseldorf IV squandered the family's fortunes on decadent spending, and gods know what else. Now the family has next to nothing.
Territories
The von Gruseldorf family controls all the land within the region of Gruseldorf. That includes everything from the southern Brigand Woods to the northern Moors, and Northern Mountains. As well as everything from the Wald to the Eastern Ocean. These lands were granted to the von Gruseldorfs by the King of Rewen during the Third Era. In doing so, the von Gruseldorfs had to drive out the native Utgard, and Breuci tribesmen. The von Gruseldorf family then claimed the land for themselves, ruling over it as overlords. Over time it has become their ancestral seat.
