The Ghostly Mountains
The Ghostly Mountains is the range that stretches across Gromlin and marks the borders of the Plutorian Empire. It is a very dangerous location and impossible to traverse the width. The mountains themselves are hollow and beneath them lies the Great Chasm, suggesting that these mountains were literally pulled up from the ground. The mountains even go into the seas surrounding Plutoria but they become the Reaper's Shoals and Ice Reef.
There are no major settlements that are in the mountain range but a fair number near their base, there are however several small outposts or camps that dot the range.
There are several small Goliath camps that dot the north eastern edge of the mountains.
Outposts of Aarockra occupy the north western slopes of the mountain.
There is a settlement of Giants on the north eastern edge that sits on the Reef of Ice, lead by Jarl Klebor
Geography
A long mountain range that stretches from the northern edge of Gromlin to the southern edge, on the eastern side of the continent. While there are many roads, all of which are treacherous, that lead up into the mountains; there are no know paths that traverse the width entirely.
Localized Phenomena
Throughout the year the mountains are topped by a dangerous and dark storms.
Climate
The mountains are known to grow extremely cold the higher into the range you go, even next to the deserts of Selwen, and even more so near the Imperial Palace.
Fauna & Flora
Very little can survive the environments of the mountains, that being said there are several creatures that do and should be considered just as dangerous as the range itself.
Rocs and Griffons have been spotted flying through the peaks of the mountains.
Near the western edges of the mountains, near the slopes some creature similar to Chimera , Manticore, and Peryton have been known to attack small or isolated groups of people.
Basilisks are a well known danger in the area, but to make it worse many of their victims come back to life as living statues to wander the mountain range.
There are many undead that roam the peaks and slopes of the range, the dead of various expeditions, and armies that tried to cross the mountains.
Natural Resources
The interior of the mountain is hollow and provides nearly no resources other than stone and marble
History
There are many rumors surrounding the mountains, including their origin. Some say Mahadi created them other claim the Emperor made them as a defensive barrier to protect the inner Empire.
Many Expeditions were sent to try and forge a path over the mountains, none have succeeded. To this date the only safe way around the mountains are by see, or through the underdark.
