The city is very accepting of outsiders and surprising has few problems as far as corruption. Many of the locals and surrounding cities consider themselves more independent of the Kingdom of Raelon. There are a few groups who wish for Holmfirth to buy their independence, but Lord John and the council have made no effort in such a political maneuver.
