Four Knights of the Wind

During the Time without Time, when the world was just in its infancy, The Ont sent down Four Knights into the world to purge the world of its indigenous demons and break the firmament over the world to allow it access. The Four Knights accepted this mission knowing that they wouldn’t be able to return to their creator until this mission was completed. The began the War Before Time which lasted for ten-thousand years. During this time the knights became corrupted, they laid with demons and bore children with them. These children became their armies, known as the The People of the Wind, although this did know please the Ont. The Ont sought to destroy the world and start anew believing that the knights had failed. The Ont's conjured his power to destroy the firmament but the plan backfired shattering the Ont into countless peaces that penetrated through the firmament becoming the Eight Aspected and Human.   The only names that remain of the Four Knights are:  
  • Nihlan
  • Arallas
  • Knoc
  • Ja’ari

Cultural Reception

To the People of the Wind, the Knights are venerated ancestors and each member represents each race in their religion.   To most of the humans, they are respected and seen as equals to their Aspected, but are not worshipped. In the lands of the Five Thrones , all of the knights are worshipped and is the reason for the War of Religion with the Empire of Woe.

In Literature

In the literature of Pardes and eastern Eden, the four knights are seen as each representing the Ont as they bring the last judgement to the demons of the world. Although to the People of the Wind they represent their reason for existence and the convenant that was created when they were created and allowed to live in the world created by the one they call the "Old God," the Ont.

In Art

In art the People of the Wind usually use a Four-way Arrow to represent the Knights. In Ridera and what's left of Ridera Minor, A Four-leaf clover usually represents at the Four and finding one is a sign that the four are watching over the finder. In the Five Throners, usually use two intertwined figure-eights as a symbol of their faith.
