Aral

The Aral were a non-human race thought be extinct. They are a race of the People of the Wind that populated the world of Griot's Song before the humans. They were known to be hot-blooded, passionate and hatred driven.
The more they hated either themselves or their advisary the more invincible they became.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Aral were taller and broader than humans, with a double shelf of shoulders and four fully functional arms and hands. Their skin color varied from parents to children, giving way to the scholarly theory that a Aral's skin marked them as part of a particular generation. They were extremely long-lived and capable of inter-breeding with humans, Nihl and the Helahes. Over time they had adapted themselves to living in a higher elevation, and generally preferred an mountainous environment.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

The Aral did not gather in locations or create communities. They saw communities, or what we call civilization, as leading to power over others and allow for one to lose their power over themselves. The deference of power to civic leaders was something the Aral as a whole loathed.   The exception to that rule was what humans called the Great Arals, for whom conquest and rule was a wild thirst. The group, believed to be a family of Arals sought conquest of all living things. They left the Great Aral Ranges of Djangru and ventured into the lands of man and successfully conquered everything south of the ranges and building a great kingdom, known as the Aral Empire in the lands now known as Khaterkhal. Many believe they wished to conquer the rest of the world and as they were building their battle plans they were attacked by the Faeroahs. The Aral Empire was was able to defend against the Faeroahs but at a great cost. The old Sagon songs say that when the Faeroahs retreated, of the Great Arals, only one was left. The last Aral known simply as the Seventh Khong, freed all of those under the Empire's control and was last seen leading a cart of his dead brothers and sisters back into the Great Aral Ranges in the north.

History

The Aral were one of the founding races of the world of Griot’s Song thought to have been created by the Knight Arallas whom they thought of as a god. They existed in isolation rarely interacting with other races who enter into their lands.

Historical Figures

The most major historical figure of the Aral is the Arallas one of the Four Knights of the Wind. It is believe they come from his seed when he laid with a demon during the wars before time.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Aral are mostly believed to be a myth in most parts of the world except for in Djangru where they reside. Though they do not interact with the Ohud and the Sagon, they are still venerated almost as if they are worshipped like gods. The Sagon people still carry the title of Khong from the Aral Empire and most of their armor portrays them as having four arms, like the Aral.
