City Botanical Gardens and Well
This lush expanse of plant life, centered around a grand gazebo, is maintained by the city for the enjoyment of its citizens. Located just inside the Wharfgate, the gardens cover gently sloping hillsides, offering panoramic views of the city's various districts.
The gardens feature small groves of rare trees, vividly colored flower beds, and intricately trimmed hedges and topiaries. Crushed gravel pathways wind through the landscape, providing visitors with the choice of short scenic strolls or longer, meditative walks.
At the heart of the gazebo lies a pristine spring, collecting in a stone-carved pool before branching into delicate streams and miniature waterfalls. The water’s flow powers tiny ornamental water wheels, evoking the charm of model millponds. A haven for quiet reflection, the gardens are ideal for meditation, study, or intimate conversation.
