Neverwinter

Demographics

The city knows a vast variety of races, most of which live together in harmony. As a sanctuary of refugees in the Ashen Struggles, the besieged town managed to persevere and after Waeronin's Charge, managed to drive off the Warborn Horde. Inhabitants mostly set aside their differences and continue to live peacefully together. Neverwinter also continues to be a haven for persecuted races in other regions of Cralun Inyklus. Only orcs, goblins, tieflings, their related folk and other monsterous races are frowned upon in the city.   All races are able to rise to prominence in the city. While some have it easier than others, most commercial positions can be filled by anyone.

Industry & Trade

Neverwinter is a trading hub that is able to supply its own food and timber. Other resources are traded in this city. The main trading quarter in Neverwinter is Anchorburg. The Anchorburg Harbor connects here to the Grand Thoroughfare.

Infrastructure

Neverwinter knows seven bridges that connect the city to Summercrest in the West, the Sacred Vale to the North and the Flourishing Fields to the South. The Grand Thoroughfare connects North and South and passes the Anchorburg Harbor and @Summercrest

History

Located in the Sacred Vale, the place that is now called Neverwinter was once a plain between the parted river Uoiohalcin (Neverfrozen), which turn into the Uoio to the North and the Halcin to the South by the Parting Stone. The vast expanse was populated by several tribes, who set up their villages: Summercrest to the West, who built a bridge to what later became known as the Isle of Lords; Anchorburg to the Southwest, a human village that thrived on regional commerce over land and water; Steadham in the centre, a small hamlet with chapel to Vrahl the Steadfast, the goddess of vigilance, protection and persistence; Riftstone Hall to the East, a small Barony overlooking the Parting Stone; and Rathmere to the North, a small human fishing settlement and a center of organized crime.

Architecture

There is no single style in which buildings are built. Especially houses are made in a variety of architectural forms that resemble the multicultural character of the metropolis. The single aspect that is shared in the expansive city is that all building are dangerously close to one another.

Geography

Neverwinter is relatively flat, with some cliffs on the waterfront. It is surrounded by water. While thick forests once stood on the outskirts of the city, now fields go as far as the eye can see.

Natural Resources

Neverwinter is surrounded by fertile land and the sea and rivers also provide ample food source. The forests also provide the city with a direct supply of wood.
