Green Run Power Plant
Refurbished just last year, the Green Run Power Plant is a state of the art facility running on a fully green power source. With its array of solar panels topping the roof and a tiny wind farm out back they're able to generate enough power to run the whole town! Tours are conducted at the plant a few times a week, allowing the residents of Green Run a look behind the curtain of just how much might this little facility has!
Purpose / Function
Green Run's Power Plant is a state of the art facility allowing for Power Generation from many different sources. There is a wind farm in the back with 3 turbines generating power as well as rows of Solar Panels on the roof of the plant, all routed into Green Run's main power grid.
Alterations
While the original coal power generators are within the building, they have been decommissioned in favor of the new methods of Wind and Solar power. An Office and Reasearch Lab has been added on as an annex by GRSS when they added the Solar and Wind Farms to the grounds.
Architecture
The outside of the building is mostly made of brick, very brutalist architecture, with the annex coming off the back of the old plant made of gray concrete, a medium sized parking lot that is rarely full allows for both workers to park as well as offer parking to visitors there for tours.
Tourism
A tour is offered through the old plant and on the grounds of the wind and solar farms, going through the history of the plant and how it generated power for so long and how it evolved into what it is today. Notably the annex is not included in the tour.
