Taifead an Domhain

The Taifead an Domhain (The Record of the World)

Containing the most thorough compendium of historical, biological, and ethnographic knowledge in all of Beatha, The Taifead an Domhain is a scholar work developed by the Tithe Eolais (Houses of Knowledge) of the Iwi Queendoms. The original records are stored in Criostal by the Sages of the Tithe Eolais. The first edition was recorded after the Iwi schism in the year 21.132 I.E. in an effort to unify Iwis, ideologically if not politically. Ever since that first edition, Sages from all four Tithe Eolais will gather every 100 years, a meeting moderated by the Druid Sinsearach of the Circle of the Sheppard to update de information and include any relevant new data in the Taifed. This information is collected by an Iwian Explorer, a Tithe Eolais Scholar, or a Duilleach Machnaimh, which will then be regarded as a UasmhĂ©id Sage (Master Authority) in its field of knowledge.

Taifead Structure

Being the recollection of information and data of almost forty thousand years, the Taifid of the World is several tomes long. This information was organized in the following five different categories called "Mor Taifead" (Major Records):
  • The Mor Taifead of Iwean History, Traditions, and General Lore
  • The Mor Taifead of Beatha's Biology, Geography, and Geology
  • The Mor Taifead of Ethnography and Race Diversity
  • The Mor Taifead of Repose and General History
  • The Mor Taifead of Science, Magic and other Applications

The Use of The Taifead an Domhain

As the Taifead an Domhain is considered the most neutral and objective scholarly work in Beatha, an abbreviated version of the Taifead is used in the Tithe Foghlama (houses of learning), theIwis Naruth have established in other race's settlements throughout Beatha, as the fundamental text for teaching. This version emphasises on contents regarding the Repose, Ethnography, and the Mor Taifead of Beatha's Biology, Geography, and Geology. The Taifead an Domhain is also used as the basis for the Taifid of law in every Iwis Dearg, Iwis Bubh, and Iwis Mil settlements. The Iwis Tine in the other hand, although acknowleging the scholarly value of the Taifed an Domhain, they do not recognize the authority of the document as a Taifid of Law, and use it instead as a military intelligence resource.
