Rio was raised as an only child as his father took him away from his mother who lived in the country of Nyubetsuan Shogunate. As her father was a owner of the more prominent mines in that town. Which is where Rio's love of tinkering and crafting came from leading him down the path to become an artificer as his grandfather also taught him a thing or two on making more intriguing items infusing some magic like crystals that was hidden away in his grandfather mine.
Taking in pride in his grandsons work helping him learn to craft more efficiently. Around the age of 7 his father kidnapped him taking him to his father's home continent Aulia. Where he would train him to be a hunter teaching him the ways of his ancestors who hunted dragon like creatures. During his training his father introduced him to a organization to hunt down dragons where he meet Gornoff Kilericfalls a 120 year old dwarf man. These to be came close during the six years of training him in the way of dragon slaying.
During this time he worked along side Gornoff becoming well versed in tinkering and inventions. Around the age of 13 for his final test his father abandoned him in the wilderness to test his training for the past 6 years while living with his father, during this time he found 2 golden eggs in a large nest sitting alone finding this as a prize to show his father his finding. During his journey back he fell down a pit fall finding a weird shrine where he found a weird little device. While inspecting it he notice it didnt work so he took it tinker with back home. finally making it back home only to see his father missing with the house ransacked . After this he went to the organization to inquire about his father with no luck. Basically lived by himself till the age of 17.
