Cachet

Trading depot for all good coming from or going to the east. Consists primarily of warehouses and wholesale Stores. It gets its nickname from the import/export authorities who rubber stamp every parcel entering or exiting the country through from the trails to the east.   Few people live in this neighborhood proper. Most of the industry consists of the pre-retail portion of trade, both legal and illegal. Between the major smuggling operations Granmont's various gangs have going on and the smaller scale import crimes from opportunists working The Hub, nearly as much traffic comes through this neighborhood illegally as legally.   With relatively few people living in Stamps there's not much room for prying eyes. Add to this a labyrinthine arrangement of pallets, shipping containers, and warehouses as well as the fact that The Hub is right on the outskirts of town, and you have a perfect backdrop for under-the-table business dealings. Consider how many places to stash a body nearby there are and the short temper common among thieves and you quickly understand why it isn't exactly a popular tourist destination. You come to the Stamps for business, not pleasure.   Reputation as a Warehouse district aside, there is nontheless an insular community complete with shops, restaurants, and a priory, all to support the mercantile industry. Residents of Stamps are primarily low-wage laborers working in warehouses or The Hub but despite their income they enjoy a close proximity to the amenities of Wall, scenic view of the University bluffs, and a quiet isolation--while crime is rampant in Stamps random targeting of the locals is much less common than violence between gangs, heists of caches, and smuggling through the Hub.
