R.B.'s Journal
This moleskin pocketbook embossed with "R.B." was once the diary of Rapheal Beaumont as a young man.
Detailing the rise of the Beaumonts, it tells how the Saint of Worms came to Rapheal's father Beausoir for help assassinating the noble family. Using knowledge granted by the Saint, Beausoir ingratiated himself with the Marquesse and convinced the Lord to take Raphael as a ward. Raphael drugged the family to allow the Saint of Worms to kill them in their dreams, ending the Baudelaire line and returning the region to the people. At the last minute Raphael saved Baron's life, indebting the young new marquesse to the Beaumonts further and establishing their power in the city.
The journal was given to Yona by Red after he had been captured by way of the Dreamwave. After Red's plot to gather enough fresh blood to free the The Saint of Worms was foiled he placed his trust in Yona to complete his ultimate goal of exposing the Beaumonts.
