Joshua Wayne
Joshua Thomas Wayne
Joshua was a prominent businessman, but is best remembered today as an abolishionist, who campaigned tirelessly for social reform and the abolition of slavery.
In 1832, he stabbed to death. The official story was that the attack had been an attempted theft gone wrong, but it was widely believed at the time that he had been murdered for his political views, and some even placed the blame for the murder at the door of his brother Solomon, who's political ambitions were frustrated in part by his brother's reputation as a radical.
