Dorothea Wayne (ne Bates) was the wife of Solomon Zebediah Wayne, and mother of Alan Wayne.

The marriage was contraversial, both because Dorothea was not from a wealthy or prominent family, and because she was 49 years his junior.

She was killed in 1887 during Solomon Grundy's invasion of Wayne Manor.
