ANUK JAKLYJY (Anuk jaklyjy)

Often called the greatest of the kley city if not the greatest city on all of Gora, Anuk jaklyjy is like no other city. Anuk jaklyjy was built around the delta river in the shape of a cone. A massive stone castle at the thin end of the cone and the river at the wide end. Anuk jaklyjy is often concerned the centre of Kley power and culture, but this is a generalisation. It may the centre of tri city area culture, but the kley are too many and too diverse to be pinned to one city.

Districts

There are three districts in Anuk jaklyjy, the high layer, the industrial layer and the living layer. Each of the layers has a different purpose.

The high layer

The high layer is where the many keeps and mansions are and at the very back of this layer is the great castle where the king resides. All of the mayors, councillors, governors and judges live in this area, thoroughly under the king’s thumb. Ensuring no rebellion could be coordinated without him noticing.

The industrial layer

The industrial layer is where the clothes, carpentry and book markets and producers are. Its where most of the trades, importing and exporting happens. The industrial layer is the true heart of the city, and the centre of commerce which is what the city is known for.

The living layer

This layer is beside the river, its where all residential areas are, other than the high layer. There are shops in the living layer even tough it’s against the building regulations. The reason that this happens is that if they live in the same building as the shop.

Architecture

As the Kley are an organised people, there are many regulations in the expansion of the city. In the living layer you will see mostly stone buildings with thatched or wood panelled roofs. In the industrial layer you will see welcoming wood panelled shops painted different bright colours to indicate what wears they sell. Either that or if you are in the dinghy back alleys you’ll see large stone where houses. If you’re in the high layer you’ll see massive gothic keeps and mansions, with a unfathomably large castle looming over the sky line.

Climate

Anuk jaklyjy is in a very warm and tropical place. The city is surrounded by rainforest and large animals are common in the area. Though the ecosystem has been poisoned by invasive species from the Mantara isles. The climate effects the people of Anuk jaklyjy culturally, they very low modesty standards because of the heat.

Natural Resources

Wood and hide are its biggest natural resources also its biggest not imported or worker related exports.

pre great war

Pre great war Anuk Jaklyjy was massive but not on the level it is today. It wasn’t even even the largest and most important city in the three isles. It was second to Jaklyjy Jnak, the holy city since at the time there where only the Kley and Bavugai. At the time there where less not Kley who couldn’t visit the place, but now with Bavugai, Gorakin, Humanity, the city hasn’t grown whereas all the other cities in the tri city area have.

The great war

With the great war Anuk Jaklyjy bloomed over the Lightning-war becoming the linchpin that in a sense caused the brutal war. Over The-great-war Anuk Jaklyjy’s armys took over some of the nearest towns and cities. It also had the shipping lanes and sailing routes from the Mantara isles to the mainland of Jshang. So when the Bavugai joined The Great War they had lots of traffic and made a massive amount of shipping fares and travelling tax. Travelling tax was something the king of Anuk Jaklyjy implemented, that says you have pay a fee every time you travel between any of the cities or large towns in their developing country.
