The Fat Witch

Formerly known as The Sly Beggar, this homely inn and tavern has been a staple in Aritan for years. The local inn and tavern were ran by a human power couple name Gery and Malia Rysav. Unfortunately, Gery found his wife cleaning more than just rooms and decided it was best she left. By order of the law there by Gimlegild, he was to keep the tavern and so Malia left and he renamed the tavern in her honor. The inn primarily caters to tourists, offering them a taste of locally grown food and brewed beverages, encapsulating the essence of Aritan's rich culture.

Purpose / Function

The Fat Witch serves as both an inn and a tavern, providing lodging and authentic local cuisine to visitors. Its mission is to showcase the region's agricultural produce and brewing traditions, giving tourists an immersive experience of Aritan's heritage.

Architecture

Constructed with traditional Aritan stone and timber, The Fat Witch exudes rustic charm. The interior boasts exposed wooden beams, a large central hearth, and handcrafted furniture, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for patrons.

History

Gery and his wife, Malia Rysav, originally ran the inn together under the name The Sly Beggar. However, after Gery discovered Malia's infidelity, they separated, with Gery retaining ownership of the tavern. In a blend of personal sentiment and perhaps a touch of irony, he renamed it The Fat Witch in her honor. Despite its tumultuous past, the inn has remained a beloved spot for both locals and tourists.

Tourism

Tourists are drawn to The Fat Witch not only for its comfortable accommodations and delectable local fare (and also the only inn/tavern available), but also for its intriguing backstory. Gery, now middle-aged, is known for his flirtatious demeanor, adding a unique charm to the establishment. Visitors often find themselves captivated by his tales and the inn's rich history, making their stay a memorable part of their Aritan experience.
