History

Founding: Sreron was founded centuries ago by pioneers who sought to merge the practical knowledge of technology with the mysticism of magic. It grew as a trade hub due to its proximity to Mystara, serving as a point of exchange between the magical and technological realms.   The Wall of the Ancients: The wall bordering Mystara was erected by ancient forces to prevent chaos magic from seeping into the world. Sreron became one of the two major entry points to Mystara, turning it into a gateway town for adventurers seeking magical power.   Recent Developments: In recent decades, magic surges and strange occurrences have increased, especially near the Wall of the Ancients. Many citizens believe these are harmless glitches due to the unstable mix of magic and technology.

Points of interest

The wall shimmers with strange runes, and those who approach often feel a deep unease.   The Clocktower of Echoes: A central landmark, this clocktower functions via both magical and mechanical means. It has begun striking at odd hours, causing temporal distortions around town—a direct result of the Hag’s meddling.   The Dreaming Cavern: Hidden beneath the town, this cavern is a place of dark magic. It is said that the very walls of the cavern whisper to those who dare enter, showing them their darkest desires or fears. No one goes into it anymore.   The Conflux Chamber: A facility where magic and technology experiments are conducted. Scientists and mages alike work together to create devices that enhance life or disrupt it—depending on who’s funding the research. Many of the town’s magical surges originate here, though most are explained away as experimental failures.
