The Horrors

Found above-ground in the Wasted Lands , as well as below-ground in the areas bordering The Collapse, The Horrors appeared shortly after the Cataclysm . Not much is known about them, other than an aversion to bright light. According to legend, they were widespread across the surface, and beaten back into the Wasted Lands after the civilization's re-emergence.
There are few accurate descriptions of them, even by people who have encountered them. They are described as "shadowy figures" of varying sizes, and are frequently only seen out of the corners of the eye. They seem to avoid daylight, and Underdark border outposts use light and fire as a defensive mechanism at their entrances.
Allegedly, one victim that was killed by the Horrors no longer had a shadow after resurrection.

After encountering horrors within the Engineering School in the Ruins of Thanedell the following was discovered by the party:

• The seem to be able to move from shadow-to-shadow within a room.
• The are vulnerable to fire, and resistant to normal weapons.
• They drain strength from you when they hit, which is not restored until a long rest.
