Father Borrin
Borrin was the local priest of the Pallid Lady in the village of Hearthwick. As a village cleric he was a contributing member in local affairs, opening the chapel for public events, lending a hand in construction projects and harvests, and (of course) presiding over weddings, funerals, and holy day celebrations.
And so it was on that fareful night that Father Borrin attended the gladiatorial contest between his friend Seaxwulf and an (apparently) famous stranger from the North. Whether it was loyalty or luck, Borrin put down money on his friend and consequently earned a hefty purse. It was this purse that would lead to his demise.
Transformation
Following his gruesome death at the hands of Falco Padfoot and Logan Threetrees, Borrin's body was dumped in a Hearthwick alley to rot. Unfortunately for the intrepid murderers, however, Borrin had bought favor with his goddess and his soul was returned to his corpse as a wight. The process took a few days, after which he resolved to avenge himself on his assailants, now fled from the village with their allies.
