The Primordial Sovereign (a.k.a. The Dark Queen)
In the timeless expanse before history itself took shape, there existed only the infinite void—a canvas of unformed potential. It was from this primordial darkness that Tynathria, known to the faithful simply as The First, emerged. Her origins are intertwined with the very act of creation that brought the universe of Golarion into being. As the personification of chaos and creativity, she was the wellspring from which all life sprang, begetting first the Dragons and then the Gods. Her essence was a beacon of ambition, inspiring Her creations to ascend towards their utmost potential.
Betrayal and Imprisonment
Despite Her benevolence and the empowerment She offered Her children, some among them, driven by the very ambition She had instilled, saw their path to power through usurpation. These rebellious beings, including those She cherished most, conspired against Her, leading to a cataclysmic betrayal. They could not destroy The First, for Her power was woven into the fabric of all creation. Instead, they sealed Her away in an otherworldly prison, hoping to erase Her from the annals of history and the memories of the world.The Whisper from the Shadows
Yet, even bound by the chains of an ethereal exile, The First's influence remained unbroken. Known now as Tynathria, or the Dark Queen, She reached across the dimensional barriers, her voice a sibilant whisper in the dreams and thoughts of those deemed worthy. To the select few, She offered a fraction of Her boundless strength, asking for devotion in return. Her whispers were not just communications but an extension of Her will, shaping Her followers' desires and guiding their actions.Rise of the Church of the First
Among those who heard Her call was a sect that rose to become the Church of the First. They recognized the voice in their minds as that of Tynathria, the Dark Queen, the original source of all power. Driven by Her whispers, they gathered at the convergence of powerful magical ley lines to construct a grand temple—a sanctuary to honor Her and serve as a focal point for Her inevitable return. The followers of the Dark Queen, committed in their faith, began to undertake sacrifices of immense power, believing these acts would strengthen their connection to Her and hasten Her liberation. Among these sacrifices was the unborn child of a drow empress, chosen to become a vessel for Tynathria's power. This child grew within the bounds of Her dark realm, becoming an avatar for the Dark Queen.Emergence of Tynathria’s Avatar
With the temple complete, a monumental ritual was conducted. It involved the sacrifice of untold treasures, countless souls, and powerful magical items. The culmination of this ritual marked the emergence of an avatar named after Her—Tynathria. She embodied the Dark Queen's will and power, organizing the Church, defending the temple, and accumulating resources for another, even greater ritual. This next ritual, dreamed and dictated by the whispers of the Dark Queen herself, promised to shatter the shackles of Her imprisonment once and for all, allowing Tynathria to reclaim Her rightful place as the ruler of all creation. The faithful of the Church of the First continue their devoted service, driven by the promise of sharing in the ultimate power of their Dark Queen when She rises again.
