High Seat of Khontu
It is said that when the faithful prayed to Khontu for hallowed ground, a star was plucked from heaven and placed on earth. This temple is the political and theological center of Khontu's worship. The temple is roofless and bedecked with dizzying spires, attempting to place worshippers, priests, pilgrims, and tourists as close as possible to Khontu's sky. It is customary for those who wish disputes resolved or seek Khontu's justice to summit the 600 steps of the central spire, to reach Firmament Chapel where Khontu's Chosen and highest ranked priests hold court. While they hold no explicit legal authority, many members of the Church of Khontu also hold prominence in local government.
