Courtship Ideals
Mating was initiated by the female every century or so when she felt the urge to have children. She looked for the nearest red dragon with the most wealth and power. As such, males never denied their advances. It was a sign of prestige among other males to be requested to mate.
After mating, the male then abandoned her while she hatched her eggs. She jealously guarded the clutch, occasionally with the assistance of an infertile female, but rarely laid down her own life for her hatchlings. An average red dragon clutch had four eggs and had an incubation time of 270 days.
Once her young reached the young adult stage of development, or sometimes earlier, the mother's natural instincts overruled her maternal ones and she forced all of her young from her territory.

History
Red Dragons were created in -1200cr by Tiamat. These were the generals on Tiamat's side, usually creating strategies to help fight against Bahamut's forces. When she was banished in -60cr, the red dragons kept fighting until the year 0wr, when the material plane was created. The red dragons had attempted to take the world, but their Metallic enemies stopped them, reducing their numbers drastically. The Red Dragons landed in Ovak, and tried to demonstrate their superiority on their Chromatic brothers. They used their strategy and raw power for hunting their food. When Humanoids began appearing in Ovak in 34wr, Red Dragons would use them as both a form of slaves and a new source of food. Some Red dragons didn't like living in Ovak, as they hated being so close to each other, and instead ended up going to the continent of Godsen in 40wr. Their Tyrannical nature made them well hated by the people of godsen. During the Calamity event, most Slaadi did not even attempt to attack the red Dragons, due to their out of reach lairs.
