The Stone Deeps

History

The Stone Deeps is officially one of the oldest kingdoms on Godai, due the fact it proceeds the start of the Dawn War between the Elementals and the Divine Gods of Godai. Obviously in those days the Dwarves of the Stone Deeps, worshipped the Divine, as all creatures on Godai did.
The Stone Deep Elders, saw the right of the Elemental Titans announcement of the Concord of the Elements, and offer their help to the agrieve Elemental Hosts arriving on to the world. To a point that the original Earth Gate that was to be opened within what is now known as the Grumbar Spine Mountains, was moved North to the continent of Azuth and deep within the Deep's vaults and mines far below the Mountain peaks. Which allow the Earthern Hosts to attack more directly the Divine Home on Uruish to the West of Azuth.
As the war went on, other settlements and kingdoms joined the side of the elementals, either due to similar reasons to the Dwarves of Stone Deeps, or because they could see the way it was going and decided being on the winning side might be good for their chances of survival, as many armies that stood against the elementals and failed disappeared, unknown to the people at the time not just murdered out right but sent to the Vaneguard Moon Prison to hold them.
After the war the Stone Deep Dwarves carried on pretty much as they always had, in mining, smithing and jewel crafting, the only real change was going from the worship of the Divine to the Elemental Titans that had freed them from the shackles of the Gods.

Social Structure

The Stone Deep Dwarves are structured into Clans and Families, with the heads of the clans becoming the council of leaders who decide on laws, the requirements and any interactions with the other Kingdoms of Godai. The Heads of the clans are not hereditary, but are decided on merit and social standing. So technically any member of a clan can become the next Head, if they gain enough standing and skill to be well known by others with the clan and also liked.

Majority of the Popultion of the Stone Deeps are suprisily Dwarves, but there are Humans, Dragonborn and either a few Tengu that have end up calling the Deeps their home.
