The contemporary records from 200 years ago, stated the explosion tore the peak of the mountain off, and the sounds were heard from 100 miles away. Hot clouds of Ash and lava cascaded down the sides of the volcano, destroying all in its path. Combined with the plume of ash and rock that was flung hundreds of miles into the air. hundreds of miles around were plunged into darkness as the ash covered the skies for days. It wiped out a number of towns and villages to the west on the savannah, hundreds if not thousands of people were killed, force to migrate away from the affected area, many headed south into the Imperium.
Unlike normal eruptions, Cindercliff didn't stop pouring out magma from deep within it, because where every the rift went to on the fire plane seems to be in the middle of a magma sea. This created rivers of magma flowing down western side of the mountain, into the savannah below, this created massive scarring on plains, creating deep ravines across the lands from the mountains on the eastern side to the seas on the western. These ravines nowadays have a mixture of water, lava or just dry along the base.
Nowadays
The great volcano of Cindercliff, is actually not volcano in the normal sense, it is a opening to the Rift to the Fire Plane, deep within its core, which caused an explosion of magma and rock, which took the top off the mountain. Sending Ash, Magma, rock and soil into the air for miles around it. It took the top of the mountain off and tons of material were scattered to the winds. While the first eruption happened 200 years ago, unlike a lot of the bleeds that happen between the planes and the physical asn't seem to shut since, creating what as become a unique landscape around Cindercliff and the savvanah to the west of it.
