Elves

By their own measure paragons of beauty and grace, by the measure of others alien and capricious. Tall and slender elves are beings ruled by passion. An elf never feels an emotion lightly and is driven by extreme internal emotions without need of external interaction. This includes melancholy so that a depressed elf is near impossible to move to action until they are struck by some great inspiration.
Elves once ruled the entire southern continent under the mantle of the Elven Empire. It needed no more elaborate name for there were none to rival it. This was dramatically ended by the First Gnosis. Now elves live either a refugees in other lands, or in those rural regions of the old Empire that were lightly peopled of nobles enough to allow safety.
