Shinzo Prepares Hyrule for Demon King, Makes Fen

Technological achievement

14

Shinzo creates the Ancient Shiekah Technology to prepare for the first emergence of Calamity Ganon.

Princess Zelda begins to receive premonitions that the Demon King will return soon. She sees all the bloodshed and cruelty of the civil war evoking his emergence.   Shinzo, knowing that Hyrule is not in good defensive standing due to the civil war, delves into his research to find a way to stop him. He returns to his lab in the Gerudo desert to make the prototypes for the guardians. However, they are fueled by electricity, which will do little against the Demon King. He determines he needs a light power source, the Demon King's weakness.   Shinzo determines the best way to do this is to go directly to the source of Hyrule's Light. He builds shadow crystal magic, the fused shadows, in his home (what is now an old Kakariko). He takes control of the triforce and shrouds it in the shadow crystal. This crystal takes the light of the triforce and turns it into Ancient Fluid - the power source for the shiekah technology. However, shrouding the triforce plunges Hyrule into darkness.   Further experiments with this fluid also yields the means to make magic mirrors - portals to other realms. Shinzo makes ones to Termina, Twili, and Subrosia. He asks Volga to see if he can rally any troops from these realms. Volga determines Termina is preoccupied by their own wars, and the twili realm is empty and desolate. However, Subrosia seems to have a race of peoples who can swim in lava and have lesser drakes as mounts/pets. He tries to see if he can use them.   Wanting to take extra measures to protect the one he loved, Shinzo made Fen, a shield bound to an earth spirit, for Asteria. Unfortunately, though, Asteria is quite fed up with Shinzo as he has been separated from her for years and then proceeds to focus primarily on, once again, saving Hyrule.
