Pool of the Faithless
The Pool of the Faithless is a pond within Ambra's Holt, within which a strange, intensely divinely magical, pylon stands. Around the edge of the pond curls the skeleton of a fallen Dragon. The Lurga do not know much about the Pool, though they know it to be a dangerous place, and a frequent site of their prophetic Bright Dreams.
Geography
The Pool is itself a pond, approximately 14m (45ft) × 14m (45ft), that descends down an unknown depth (though it's certainly very deep). The pond has a shallower lip — less than 1m (3ft) deep around its rim that extends between 1.5m (5ft) and 6m (20ft) from the drop, depending on the approach. The pond sits within a clearing, with the forest growing being as close as 6m (20ft) and as far as 17m (55ft) away.
Emerging from the centre of the pond is a large metal pylon, vaguely trapezoidal in shape above the surface, which rises approximately 2m (6ft) above the water. At its widest point, the pylon is about 3m (9ft), and about 30cm (1ft) thick. The pylon appears to be made of grey-silver metal which is heavily corroded and weathered, with a crack running down its front and a sliver missing from within. The face of the pylon has an engraved rune on it, which bears a striking resemblance to an Ihmisii symbol of Guestright, though clearly older or more archaic. It's unclear how deep the pylon extends into the pond.
History
The Pool of the Faithless was defended by two kinds of Spirit of Harmony — wooden Dryads, and aquatic Naiads. These beings were defeated, but not destroyed, and the pylon was partially investigated during the fifty ninth foray. King Arridhaios — guided by the Lurglings under the direction of the Scofflaws — was instructed to place back a sliver from his crown that was believed to have broken off from the pylon back. It is believed this sliver was recovered when the King, in his own youth, followed a friend's Bright Dream to the very same site.
