Great Gorge

The Great Gorge is large unnatural rift found within the Plains of Pesht, halfway between Tsä-Yrsa and Ambra's Holt. The gorge is apparently only crossed at one point along its length by a bridge of rock approximately 3m (10') wide at its narrowest point. The gorge is approximately 1.6km (1mi) deep, though this is purely an estimate, as no known person has reached the bottom or properly measured the gorge. The gorge is approximately 50km (30mi) long, running vaguely north-east to south-west, in a loose 'S' shape.
The Great Gorge appears to be unnatural, and indeed new, for several reasons. Firstly, it is unknown to most within Gol-Kasha, despite its massive size. Secondly, it does not appear on maps of the region, the last of which was commissioned c.100 BE, just before the Second Invasion of Gol-Kasha. Third, current understanding of geological sciences, and the karst formation of the Plains of Pesht, suggest that such a canyon isn't possible to form naturally.
