Disjunction

The Disjunction was a divine cosmological event created by Madam Midnight that saw the creation of the Refrain and Sustain out of Harmony, intending to pacify the mortal plane so that its native inhabitants could master it and thrive. The Disjunction caused the first great Wound in Reality, the ripples of which were and still are felt across all of Creation.
The Disjunction, and the creation of the demiplanes of Harmony, caused great upheaval to the creatures within Creation. Aside from the creation of those creatures decended from the Refrain and Sustain, the changes to reality made the surface of Glüm inhospitable to Giantkind, as well as many others, driving these creatures into the dark corners of the world.
