The North Tower

Built long ago by the Forefathers as a beacon of their power on the frontier and a way to protect the only safe passage around The Spine, the North Tower is a large, cylindrical stone tower that looms over the village that sprang up around the garrison. At the towers pinnacle is an enchanted beacon that casts a bright yellow light across the landscape and Mercator Ocean, acting as a light house and marking the northern most reaches of Galladia. At first a seasonal settlement supplying the garrison, the village of North Tower eventually grew into a small village. During the summer, fisherman venture out into the icy waters of the Mercator between the shore and the Tooth, a large island just off shore. Locals claim the island to be haunted, but Academy scouts have only ever reported a mild sense of unease.
