Gods of Creation

Religious History

"In the beginning, there was nothing and there was everything. From this an egg formed, and from this egg hatched Divinus, The Creator. The Creator (Divinus), created the Universe out of his shell and from the matter that existed around him. During this Great Creation, the entities of Space (Locit), Time (Tempiti), and Darkness (Teneb) were created from parts of Divinus’ body to govern the universe. With the help of his sons Divinus made all of the stars to fill the sky, but they were not satisified. Divinus grew restless as they searched and created, but was unable to find the one thing that would fill his empitness. Until finally, they sensed a light in the darkness, but not a light they had created. They searched out this light, and found that it was the spark of the Aura. They were filled with joy at the sight of this creation that had blossomed in his universe. However, Tenebrus wanted to seize this Aura, and the immense power and mystery that surrounded it. They set out for the place in which Aura had arose, the world of Gloratium. Divinus discovered that Tenebrus had tracked down his most prized possesion, and felt that Tenebrus wished to use Aura for his own gain. As Punishment they bound Tenebrus to Gloratim out of spite, and stripped him of his control in the Unvierse. Tenebrus' actions would be known as The Betrayal. Tenebrus spent many millenia contemplating his actions, and came to the conclusion that they would use the Aura and transform Gloratium into a world of his making. Using what little power they had left from The Betrayal, they created three creatures of his own. One was molded from the rocks of the earth and helped to raise the land from the sea. One was chiseled from ice and would form the snow and the icelands of the Far North and Far South. From the fires of the earth they forged a creature of iron that would create volcanoes and precious metals. Lastly they created one to rule the three, which has come to be known as Tribus, in order to keep balance. Tenebrus had used all of his power to create these beings and perished after their creation. It is said that his body is the foundation for The Spine in Galladia. After seeing what Tenebrus had done, Divinus forgave Tenebrus for The Betrayal, and used his spirit to create The Great Star, our sun. However, the three Creatures of Tenebrus had created a world that was mostly barren. The Aura was still present on the world, but Divinus still felt as though they was lacking something. They came to the conclusion that They would have to create more beings, like Tenebrus had, in order to fill his world. Divinus brought into being two spirits using the Aura and pieces of Gloratium, one would be his Angel of The Sea, and the other would be The Angel of The Land. They told the angels that they would be the stewards of the world the original four held most dear, and that they should create their own creatures to fill this world. Divinus then ascended to sit on The Throne of Creation and watch the Universe unfold for the rest of time, with his two children, Tempitis and Locitus, at his side.   With their instruction, the two Angels, and stewards of Gloratium, set out to populate their world. Each of these Angels first created their own Trio of Elements to aid in their mission. Marea, The Angel of the Sea, created three dolphin-like creatures, known as The Delphs, with large sleek bodies that could glide on the ocean currents as though the water were merely air. Patterns adorned their bodies reprsenting their unique instructions from Marea. One would preside over the the fires of the deep ocean, the volcanic islands, and acts of judgement; another would be responsible for the waves and purity; the final Delph would control the Storms, fertility, and new life. Together, Marea and The Delphs created the oceans and filled them with fish. They also created the islands, and for this reason the island nations praise Marea as their cheif god. The Angel of The Land, Terrcior, created his Trio which resemble large wolves, The Lupre, which are able to run at speeds that match even the fiercest winds. These creatures are adorned with patterns, similar to there ocean counterparts, and were each given a specific task by their creator. The first Lupre was given control over fire, as well as strength and courage. The second Lupre was given charge of rain and storms, and is attributed to beauty. The final Lupre was given control over Earthquakes, and is usually prayed to when asking for wisdom. Together these two began to populate the earth with plants and animals. Small conflicts between The Brother (Terrcior) and The Sister (Marea) would break out, but they would often be resolved with compromise and concession. Lastly the question arose over what should be done with the rivers. Marea claimed them as her domain since they flowed to her and contained her primary elements. Terrcior claimed that they flowed from his mountains and over his land. A conflict soon began as the two siblings quarlled over this question. storms raged and and floods would decimate the coastlines, while fires made once tropical islands barren. Finally after seeing so much destruciton and death, Divinus descened from the Throne of Creation and ended the bickering. Divinus drew power from each of the two Angels and used it to create two entirely seperate entities, The Spirits of The River. One would be named Diluve and would have power over floods and new life, while the second would be Mundi who would have power over fresh waters and fertility. The angels, it is said, retreated to their sanctuaries deep within the ocean and high upon the mountains, but left their creatures to roam the earth and protect their realm, a task they still carry out to this day. Man came to know Divinus, Terrcior, Marea, Tenebrus, Locitus, and Tempitus as Divines, and most understand that The Aura is directly related to these beings."

History

Historical Galladia celebrated the gods known as Marea and Terrcior, while Eteros and Rallia worshipped Divinus, Locitus and Tempitis. The Forefathers, however, worshipped all these gods, having been the ones who spread these ideas to the realms via missionaries long before their arrival in Silver Dawn. In the era known as Aura Fall, missionaries (or as some amy say, zealots) from the continent of Midmara ventured out in order to spread their own faith of one of the singular gods, having been turned by the major religion of Midmara which worshipped the entire pantheon. These missionaries arrived in Galladia, Eteros, and Rallia and began to spread their religion while merging with the locals of these continents over hundreds of years their faiths took hold and became the major religions of these continents, intermingling with the oral traditions and minor gods of the old religions that bore great similarity to the adopted gods. The Forefathers, however, worshiped all these gods, having been the ones who spread these ideas to the realms via missionaries long before their arrival. When the Forefathers then invaded, it worked conveniently that their religion was already present in these lands making assimilation much easier as they erected huge temples to the local gods.
