Krecmian

The Krecmian is considered an apex predator by many, native to the Lanora Tundra they are fierce beasts that rule the snowy landscape. Not a creature to be trifled with they are quiet agile hunters, despite their easy to spot coloration they are masters of hiding in the snow and pouncing the unwary.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are surprisingly small creatures for their reputation only reaching sizes of about two and a half feet tall and four feet long. Thyey weigh roughly 150 pounds and resemble a fox in body build though their heads are large and rounded more resembling the Banepir in shape. Their large mouths have multiple rows of small, sharp, serrated teeth and have strange branch like protursions from their in addition to their horns.   Along their back they have furry fen like growths that almost resemble wings. Their paws also have eight long sharp claws measuring about 4 inches in length. Their tails are also capable of being used as a way to grab onto their prey as well as an extra weapon with their ability to constrict them like a snake does their body.

Genetics and Reproduction

Their mating season is in the the thick of the winter months and lasts for about two months. During this time they will congregate in large packs for the duration. The gestation period lasts about 6 months with birth typically happening during the short lived summer months for their icy home.

Growth Rate & Stages

They have three life stages Pup, Juvenile, and Adult

Pup:

This stage lasts about a year in which they pup stays with it's mother nursing for the first four months and then eating what she brings home to the den. They are curious and rambunctious creatures during this time though they don't wander far from the safety of their dens.

Juvenile:

At about a year old the young krecmian will begin to hunt on it's own and wander further from the den though it will stay with it's mother for another two years. This is the stage that adventurers are most likely to spot the creature as they lack the skill of the hunt that an adult of the species has.

Adult:

At three years old the krecmian finally splits off from it's mother and finds a territory of it's own, by this point it will have mastered the art of the hunt and become a fully independent entity.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are strictly carnivorous surviving entirely off of their fellow fauna in the tundra.
