The Hestorian Plague

A plague killed hundreds of thousands on the Continent of Hestoria.

The Hestorian Plague of 2022 was thought to have originated in Southland, in the Elven Empire. It was particularly deadly to older folks and younger folks, and middle folks. Only the very most in between were thought to be safe, and then they suddenly weren't. The kingdoms in Hestoria weren't helpful either, constantly trying to blame each other for the plague and close their boarders while not sending any actual aid to their residents. The Dwarven Kingdom of Opals, in the mountain range Mother's Fingers (called the Opal Mountains by the dwarves, declared that dwarves were immune and therefore would not be following any quarantine measures. Their citizens were ravaged by the plague and the king themself died shortly after, leaving the kingdom to a squabbling counsel. The real aid came from an unlikely ally, the Great-Strong Orc Horde of Headskull Kickstomper, the chief of the mighty Orc Horde. Chief Kickstomper ordered ever sick person that was seen to immediately be executed without question if not in the attendance of a healer or doctor. Cases immediately dropped off and quarantine was enforced after only 200,000 thousand people were publicly dipped in boiling water "to sterilize them" to death.....in one day.
