The Undying Crusade
The Undying Crusade is a wandering military campaign, led by a creature called The Lich King. Currently the army is in Everfell, having been defeated in Cumberland and chased across the plains.
The Conflict
Deployment
The army of the Lich King, called the Undying Crusade, rallied out from seemingly nowhere, appearing first in Yarath Ak Soe at the head of a horde. The army consisted of both living soldiers and undead creatures, seemingly getting along just fine.
The Engagement
When the Undying Crusade moves through an area, the populace often flees. When they venture back after the horde has moved on, several things are noticed; all lamp posts have been removed. Every single one. Every door facing east is painted a cherry red. Any animal with black fur is painted with white spots.
Any person locked up in a jail cell is found to have been removed and hung by a gallows (regardless of whether they were tried or not). Irrigation canals are cleaned and widened. Thatch roofs are removed and a note left nailed to the door claiming it was a "fire hazard". Bandit camps are destroyed and the criminals are quartered and set on pikes. Any creature with red hair or fur is shaved, bathed and told not to do that again as this is a crime against color.
Anyone that resists these and other odd behaviors is immediately killed.
