Malmrwood (Mahl-mr-wood, Eye-ser-wood)
Malmrwood, Ironwood, Eijzerwood is a type of tree that has many names depending on the location and time period in which it is found. It is a dense, hard wood that is highly sought after for both weapons and for construction of fortifications.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Malmrwood is a high density wood containing a naturally occurring metal-like veins that run through it that makes it heavier and more durable than most other woods. It has the color of red wine with greyish striations that permeate the wood fibers. The bark is soft and fibrous and can easily be peeled away with a knife or other small bladed objects.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Malmrwood is significantly tougher than other woods, being nearly as strong as steel. Due to it being denser than most woods, Malmrwood is heavy and will sink if placed in water, though it is not dense enough to fully fall to the bottom of whatever water source it is placed in. Due to the metal-like veins in the wood, it cannot catch fire. It will blacken and crumble after being exposed to intense flames but will never actively burn.
Malmrwood Armor Properties
- Druids can wear armor made of Malmrwood
- While wearing Malmrwood armor, if you are polymorphed or wild shaped, the armor reinforces your new form and you gain +2 to your natural armor class in that form
