Soul-Break

Every soul has its limits, and a weak soul is nothing more than a hindrance that's using up Anabaa's valuable resources. As such it's in her best interest to push each employee to their soul-break as quickly as possible to see what value they truly hold to her.

Process

The process by which a soul is broken is generally broken down into the following stages, after which the employee is re-evaluated and their eventual fate is determined.

Exhibiting Symptoms

Symptoms of a soul-break can vary. In general, as an employee begins to settle into their routine in GG's, they'll eventually begin to exhibit some forms of stress. While this is normal, it is unlikely that the symptoms will abate at any point, only building gradually. In many cases, Anabaa will have a hand in personally seeing to it that the employee is pushed to their breaking point as far and as fast as possible.
Straining to complete regular tasks, erratic behavior, scattered thoughts, and paranoia are all common symptoms, though each individual varies. These symptoms will likely begin to interfere with the employee's work habits, incurring punishments that will only further exacerbate the problems. Eventually, the amount of stress an employee experiences will be so great that the soul will have reached its limit, and the employee's soul will hit its breaking point.

Breaking Point and Duration

At this point, the soul has two directions it can undergo: they will either adapt and emerge changed but whole from the experience, or the soul will break and the employee will become a [drone].
The duration of a soul's breaking point is as unique as the individual themselves that undergoes it. In Chandy's case, she underwent severe flu-like symptoms for nearly two weeks, her soul gradually shifting to accommodate her environment before she recovered. In others, such as in Jalil's experience, the pressure and buildup was immense and immediate, occurring within a few minutes.

Success and Recovery

In the best-case scenario, an employee will emerge from their soul-break (more or less) whole, and will be free to enjoy the benefits of their new life at GG's. These benefits are exclusive to employees who have undergone and survived their soul-breaks and as such are highly coveted by all new employees.
Newly broken-in employees are given access to the InCredible, allowing them to purchase various items to make their life at GG's more comfortable.
Employees will also be given a new [dorm] assignment, allowing them to share a room with one other long-term employee rather than staying in the [commons].
The [brand] on the employee's body will lose its raw coloration, fading to look more like a scar or marking on the body than a fresh tattoo.

Failure

Sadly, a majority of the employees that come through GG's do not survive their breaking point. In this event, the employee's [soul crystal] will acquire a series of cracks and the employee will automatically become a [drone].
Employees that have become drones, having no will of their own, are ultimately abused by the system and become little more than grease in the wheels of the club.
