Getninia

The Laws of Getninia

The primary departures from own observed reality made by Getninia are that magic exists, the gods are real (and are powered by faith), and that other planes with potentially entirely unnatural physics exist and can, generally with great effort, be accessed.

Cosmology

The creation of the world, its material echoes, and the various planes of existence is one of the Great Mysteries that scholars the world over are puzzling over, and that a great many religions try to answer with certitude. Broadly, the Known World is the Prime Material, it has two echoes that mirror its rough geography, and there are a multitude of planes, demiplanes, and realms beyond the boundaries of the mundane Known World.

Principal Geography & Features

The Prime Material, or mundane world, is vaguely earthlike with a handful of supernaturally caused geographical and climatological anomalies that allow us to break strictly realistic climate models for the purposes of more interesting worldbuilding. Overall though, the core of the setting is somewhat realistically earthlike – 24 hour days, a sun, a moon, etc.

Initial Active Setting

Initial scopes may vary, but the very first campaign was set in and around the city of Qua'adar. Other campaigns have started elsewhere, though as a rule, campaigns have shifted to a continental or transcontinental scale.
