Persecution of the Südlichean Peoples

A change in dynasties in Volgeberg leads to the sudden persecution of halfling communities living in the southern regions of the Kingdom. Over the approximately the next two decades, thousands of Volgier Südlicheans migrate south, seeking the safety of their distant relatives in the Elleryc plains.

Not much is known as to why the Volgier Dwarves turned on their halfling neighbors, who according to legend and folklore, were welcome for generations to farm the foothills of the Veisich Mountains so long as they paid tribute to the Volgier King.   Having maintained relations with their distant relatives in the south, a majority of Volgier halflings migrated south into the Elleryc plains and outskirts of the Nimearean Kingdom. However, many of the ancestral lands they sought were since conquered by human Ellerycan Dukes, who were as paranoid of each other as they were outsiders. They forced many Südlicheans ever further south and inland.
