Healing Root

Healing root is a very rare powder harvested from the roots of a Mùtheìl Ginger plant, a wild type of ginger that only grows in the slopes along the Jùlhè Flanì pass connecting northern and southern Lìrna.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Healing root in its prepared form looks like a soft, fine orange-white powder that forms small clumps.

Compounds

Potions of Lesser Restoration, healing, and other brewed magicks from Felora make use of the root for its life saving and regenerative properties.

Geology & Geography

Mùtheìl Ginger, which the root is from, only grows in the wild, in particular the slopes of the Tèlbrai & Jollì mountains. Efforts at cultivation have failed, as have transplanting the root elsewhere in Felora or Galisea.

Origin & Source

Healing root is made by grinding the root of the Mùtheìl Ginger plant, a wild varient of ginger that grows in the wild.

History & Usage

History

Feloran documents, including the Imperial Canon, describe the root and it's healing properties from the beginning, and myth/folklore in Sashen, Heglan, and Vothan culture also makes reference to the mystical healing root in the mountains.

Everyday use

The root is harvested most commonly by Ulku priests and Ëlhyaean druids, who know how to grind it into the powder suitable for use in the brewing of potions. Adventurers, wealthy mercanaries, Feloran nobles, and paladins of Ëlhyaean orders brew or purchase potions of healing and restoration made with the root.

Refinement

Healing root is edible in its natural plant state, however the healng properties are only brought out after it's heated, dried, and ground up. Finer grinds dissolve better in the brewing process, creating a more potent potion.
