Session 2
While running from the horde of zombies, the group decides to escape from being surrounded.
Running from the horde becoming larger and larger around them with each attack, they gallup the horses as fast as possible with the carrage in tow. For 5 minutes they run before making a small detour into the forest.
Maggie decides to climb a tree for a better vantage point on a lifted hill. While watching an explosion soon comes from a far distance directly opposite of where they came in. Because of the night sky falling onto the area, the group decides to take camp to prevent surprises if there are any conflicts. In the night, they meet a solo red tiefling who tried their hardest not to make to much noise but get their attention. Eventually Wess notices listening to one of the few survivors and where to meet the last the tiefling knew of.
Following the morning of, the party meets again the Tiefling (Expressive), a femal dwarf (Brunak Voca), a kobold named Gren, and a very scared hafing(Kiny Castlaugh). There was another who survived, but matched the background was Nutmeg a Manikin made of solid wood, but never moved.
Leaving the town to figure out what transpired, or rather to end the horde, the group encircles the town finding the strangest markings around the loud explosion they heard earlier. Many warnings on attacking zombies, but one paticular note was of a dark house in the night. As it being early day, they needed to figure out something sooner rather then later. Attacking the zombies, finding specialty monsters that even stories couldn't describe right came from all around. Mid combat another explosion in the far distance helped drive away whatever hordes attention was on the group.
Before going in again, the person they were looking for Haani, a pirate captain who has done missions for the Watchful Eye before, appeared being what she thought was the last survivor. Pin pointing out the house and watching the group set up a plan, Larx building a beacon sound and Vincent readying firebolts to burn down the "dark house" from afar. The plan was nearly flawless, but the exception came when necromancer came out. Attacking the party and having his two pet dogs killed off, he casted cloud kill before running away having obtained enough damage to worry him.
With his leave, the entire town of zombies fell in one swoop, bodies beginning to decay and black fluids secreting from their orifices. With an inspection of the dark house, having been both burned and drowned by water, most of the evidence was dispursed. What they found though was:
A spiral like effect centered on a few objects Black candles with black flames at the points. A waterlogged brain a large collection of rocks, destroyed gems, woods and other such like items ruined by fire and water and a purple like fleshy bit difficult to descipher. (Vincent somewhat able to identify as a possible mindflayer spawnling)
Taking the pirate captain and the small group to La Valin, the returned with a story and what few survivors remained.
