Coldwind canyon

Long before the arrival of the first people to step foot in this world was the Coldwind canyon. This gargantuan canyon once held one of the oldest white dragons to ever grace the world. Relavor, who has long since disappeared from history, was one who delved into the caverns and created many of the tunnels used today. The cold chill still touches much of his making and yet the only known history of Revalor is from other dragons who once knew of him. As a standing sentiment to his power the canyon remains of temperatures below what is natural for the area. As it is on the edge of The Brine, many have found very temporary refuge during the summers. There are even those who travel further beyond the edge, finding exotic herbs and plants close enough to the mouth of the cave where some swear to hear deep breathing.   Long ago, or says dragon lore, a once prideful red dragon who still had not fully developed, took ownership of the caverns. In less than a week the red dragon left, frostbitten by the very place he called home. The story goes that he never truly left the caverns as it was simply a dead corpse flying off to lie in the heart of the Brine. These dragon bones still lie in the Brine today, where a magic that exceeds comprehension always brings any looted bones back to where they rest.   There have been expeditions that have tried to go into the heart of the canyon, but many end as even those who are used to the cold find an eerie touch of death to it.

Revalor

There is much more myth about this dragon that there has never been a sighting of this ancient dragon.  Since this dragon is older the the earliest inhabitant of what would temporarily be the new world, no human, elf, dwarf, or other such humanoid even has written records of this dragon.

What is told through the lore of dragons who speak of his power and what he accomplished. As these stories are word of mouth tales, there are many inconsistencies to them.  One such tale speaks of how the caverns were the intentional doings of the white dragon, breathing his cold breath on every section of the area.  Others say his might alone summoned the frozen tundra-like temperatures to the cavern.
His power is expanded on further as it is said he was the sole reason why a region of a continent wasn't destroyed by a tarrasque. Long before any written work came, a tarrasque was unearthed from its slumber deciding to rampage throughout the lands.  The ice dragon Revalor flew thousands of miles to engage this monster and in a short time, freezing the area around and tearing through the monstrosity leaving a dead husk of meat.  This land became lush as the years went by from the soaking blood and meat left behind, but the bones where taken as trophies, or so the tale goes.  If one was ever to travel to the furthest reaches into the Coldwind Cavern they would find a throne of Tarraque bones where the ancient white dragon would rest.
