Bryan, I am sorry to be telling this to you in a letter but this is not something I could explain to you, I would rather be brought to trial for abandonment of my duties than try to explain why you should let me go. Erin was just a girl, no matter what they thought. It surprises her sometimes, how they all forget that, even herself, with everything that happened. That she was merely the figurehead for the movement--the scapegoat that would be doomed no matter what.
Her eyes follow a couple of girls in the distance peaking glances at her and giggling with each other. They seemed so young and carefree it startled her to realize that they were only a few years apart. Then again her never had a chance at a childhood.
Erin tore her gaze from the window, she had a meeting with the Lords soon and she couldn't let them she her distracted. She whispered a prayer of refreshment over her, feeling her tiredness slip away. Once more the warrior queen that ruled, she turned back to the policies that she was about to implement. They would not find a weakness to exploit today.
