The Tree of Six Clans

Written by starzomskiwrites

Alterations

In the beginnings of the Second Age, the many clans consolidated into the six large clans that we know today. This independent constitution of the clans, and the declaration of their clan-hood was scrawled in the at-the-time burgeoning Felidae script onto the tree, soon to be known as the Tree of Six Clans. This script solidified the Six Great Felidae Clans, as well as their communal ownership over the plains. This agreement persisted until the arrival of the humans in the early Fourth Age, when new land claim agreements were created and new settlements were born of harmony between humans and Felidae.
Between the Second and Fourth Age, the Tree was also affixed with hundreds of carved-bone wind chimes and various culturally significant ornaments, leading to its nickname of "The Singing Tree," where wind blowing through the prairies causes the tree to sing.

History

In the First Age, the goddess Melora sowed 5 Great Trees among the lands of Geloriel. These trees are spread out among the continents, and many have become important religious sites for not only followers of Melora, but any culture they grew within. These trees are found in the Athawin Prairies, the Lunaerian Tundra, the Calathis Archipelago, The Giantread Plains, and The Wildwood. The tree that was raised in the Athawin Prairies was a revered site by the Felidae Clans, who lived around the tree for much of their beginnings on the plains.

Tourism

After the signing of the Six Clans Treaty, the site was regarded with great cultural significance among the Felidae, eventually becoming the center of the largest original Felidae settlement. That settlement is no longer permanently inhabited, but now a pilgrimage spot for Felidae culturalists, scholars of Felidae history, and the Church of Melora, all visiting to gaze upon the tree's magnificence and read the ancient text.
