Whispers of the Tempest Report
General Summary
Battered by the relentless winds of Stormwarden's Beacon, the True Menagerie found themselves on the desolate shores, poised to confront an imminent ritual that threatened to shatter the Primordial Gate of Storms. With just a day remaining, urgency hung in the air as the island echoed with the weight of a task transcending mere existence.
Taking a moment to mend their wounds from the tumultuous sea voyage, the party discovered a tent in the shadows of the ruins. Within, Maleki, a Light Domain Cleric of Pelor, revealed he had journeyed from Kings Rest to aid in protecting the gates. Cardinal Koresh and Balok, however, stumbled upon a grim scene—a battered and bloody Cobalt Halthrone, an ally from Branchburg, who revealed he had been pursued by Sahuagin and fallen from the tower. Administering a healing potion, Aldus learned of a trap diverting the party downward, concealing the true gate's location at the tower's peak.
To prepare for the challenges ahead, Yogar took flight, using his wings to carry Balok up for a scouting mission. A dome of darkness veiled the top of the tower, with only Yorgar discerning vague, swirling shapes. Below, Cardinal Koresh summoned a Flesh Golem, and Aldus utilized the Emberheart Gem to call forth a Fire Elemental. As the party began ascending the tower's interior, Grimguard and Balok opted for a daring climb along the outer wall. However, an unexpected stone detachment sent them plummeting, injured but alive as thety were saved by the rain softened ground, they quickly rejoined the party.
Upon reaching the top floor's entrance, the party encountered illusions—a Water Elemental, an Air Elemental, and a shadowy figure seemingly conducting a ritual at a portal. Grimguard's Echo Knight's attack passed through the shadowy figure, revealing to the group that the entire room as an illusion. As the party began to investigate further they realized the entrance they had come through no longer exhisted, and infact upon feeling the floor what looked like wooden boards actualy felt like rough stone. As the illusory veil lifted, the party found the stone wall deteriorating, allowing water to cascade into the chamber. Desperate, Skips implored Panos for assistance, but the Fey creature's aid remained elusive. Understanding the gravity of their predicament, Skips swiftly invoked a spell, granting the entire group the ability to breathe underwater. Simultaneously, Yorgar unleashed eldritch energy, tearing open the roof and admitting a deluge of seawater. Recognizing the urgency, the Cardinal employed his magic, casting a water-walking spell to aid the party as they found themselves submerged more than 100 feet below the ocean's surface.
Between the party and the safety of the surface lurked another menace — a group of seven Sahuagin warriors. A rapid and deadly underwater skirmish ensued, culminating in the defeat of three Sahuagin adversaries. With the foes dispatched, the party ascended swiftly, breaking through the water's surface.
Upon reaching dry land, the party began preparing for the potential arrival of the remaining Sahuagin. In a dramatic entrance, Panos the Satyr applauded the party's prowess. Utilizing his enchanted flute, he sculpted a barrier of ice, thwarting any pursuit by the Sahuagin. Panos disclosed the genuine location of the Primordial Gate of Storms at the tower's apex, reassuring the party that the Cobalt imposter had been effectively dealt with.
As the party readied themselves for the impending ascent, both Panos and Skips vanished into the enigmatic realm of the Feywild. The remaining members fortified their resolve, bracing for the challenges that awaited them on their quest to prevent the opening of the Primordial Gate of Storms. The storm-battered shores of the Stormwarden's Beacon resonated with the turbulent weather and the imminent clash of elemental forces, setting the stage for the unfolding journey's next chapter.
