Shattered Horizons Report

General Summary

In the aftermath of their trials at Stormwarden's Beacon, the True Menagerie found themselves back in Grimgate, where chaos and fear had seized the city. The ominous beam of electrical energy had cast a shadow over the once-bustling streets, and the citizens, gripped by uncertainty, sought answers from the party.   The group faced unexpected challenges on their return journey. The interrogation and subsequent demise of the enigmatic Dragonborn yielded only a breadcrumb—Hellfire Gemworks, the origin of the blood-stained paper. As they sailed back to Grimgate, tragedy struck when one of the crew, Edwin, was found dead on watch, his body bearing mysterious puncture wounds.   Upon arriving at Grimgate, the city's transformation was palpable. Fear and anxiety permeated the air, and the True Menagerie's presence prompted both awe and trepidation from the populace. The party, now navigating a city on the brink of chaos, made their way to Edwin's home. Cardinal, with somber responsibility, informed Edwin's wife of his demise, offering solace in a moment of grief.   Summoned urgently to meet with the Lord Governor, the True Menagerie encountered a leader visibly shaken by the events unfolding. The once-stern Lord Governor now wore an expression of concern, acknowledging the dire situation. The fate of Grimgate, it seemed, hung in the balance.    The Lord Governor implored the True Menagerie to provide clarity and guidance amidst the city's descent into panic. The mysterious electrical beam, striking fear into the hearts of the citizens, demanded explanation. The party's actions, as both a beacon of hope and a harbinger of change, held consequences that now unfolded in the turmoil of Grimgate. Skips and Baylok proposed a plan to address the city's growing apprehension. As they prepared for an afternoon event to speak to the people, unexpected chaos erupted in the city square.   The bright afternoon, initially meant for community engagement, turned into a shocking spectacle. Skips O'Hare, in the midst of a musical performance, became the target of a sudden and violent attack. Chaos ensued as the True Menagerie fought to protect their comrade. The assailant, vanishing mysteriously, left the square in disarray.   In the aftermath, Aldus spoke to the Grim Gazette, revealing that the attack was an attempt to thwart their investigation into the strange occurrences plaguing Grimgate. Undeterred, the party swiftly departed for Seggath, ready to pursue new leads and continue their quest for answers.   In Seggath, within the confines of Hellfire Gemworks, tensions flared as the party confronted Valthrun Shadowspire. The situation escalated rapidly, leading to a brawl. As they managed Valthrun and his formidable raven, a sudden intrusion occurred—a Bone Devil emerged from a rift, engaging the party in a chaotic battle. Amidst the clash, a silver bottle released thick smoke, plunging the True Menagerie into a perilous fight within the heart of Hellfire Gemworks.
